As a member of the People and Culture team, this position is accountable for providing the following major functions:
Networks with injured and/or ill employees, supervisors, union representatives, various health care professionals, and WorkplaceNL case managers to proactively manage sick leave and WorkplaceNL cases
Manages disability cases to ensure that employees return to work in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
Collaborates with managers to resolve disability management and/or accommodation issues by providing interpretation of the relevant legislation, collective agreement provisions and NLC's policies and procedures
Works with injured and/or ill employees, managers, various health care professionals, union representatives to accommodate employees as required
Works with managers to identify and manage cases of non-culpable absenteeism to support and encourage employees to attend work on a regular basis
Assists supervisors and managers in their understanding of employee attendance trends and patterns
Provides advice and education to managers and staff in the areas of disability case management, attendance management and WorkplaceNL claims management
Researches, evaluates and provides leadership in the development and implementation of current disability case management and attendance management best practices
Manages the provision of the Employee and Family Assistance Program including outsourced counselling and case management services
Leads wellness initiatives for the corporation.
For consideration as a potential candidate, the individual should possess the following qualifications:
University degree in Health Sciences, Business Administration or Commerce with a concentration in Human Resources
Three (3) to Five (5) years of disability case management experience
Strong working knowledge of Workplace NL policies, procedures and legislation and Human Rights legislation
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and relationship building skills
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a unionized environment with attendance management initiatives will be considered an asset.

Salary:HL 19 - $72,169.31 - $93,820.74 annually
