Job Overview


We are seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic HR Consultant to join our team as a Contractor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in human resources management and demonstrate expertise in various HR systems and processes. This role involves providing strategic guidance on HR practices, facilitating change management initiatives, and enhancing organizational effectiveness through effective talent acquisition and employee relations strategies.

Key Responsibilities:



Recruitment & Hiring: Sourcing, screening, and recruiting qualified candidates across BC, ON, and NS. Onboarding & Offboarding: Creating smooth, compliant employee transitions. Employment Law & Compliance: Providing management with advice on provincial labour and employment law matters.

Secondary Areas of focus:



Policy Development: Drafting and updating employee handbooks, workplace policies, and compliance documents. Performance Management: Helping managers with reviews, progressive discipline, and employee development plans. Compensation & Benefits Guidance: Advising on competitive pay structures, benefits benchmarking, and compliance with provincial standards. Workplace Investigations: Handling complaints, grievances, and conflict resolution. Training & Development: Coordinating or recommending training (e.g., leadership, harassment prevention, mental health awareness). Health & Safety Compliance: Ensuring occupational health and safety standards are met across provinces. Strategic HR Planning: Advising on organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession planning.

Experience



Proven experience in human resources management or a related field is essential. Familiarity with various HR systems is highly desirable. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability in talent acquisition strategies including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding processes. Administrative experience within an HR context is preferred.
