Job Description


Our client is a Leading Energy Services company with multiple business lines operating across Western Canada.

Currently we are recruiting for a Sherwood Park based;

HR Business Partner

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources and will be accountable for human resource support to operations and business units.

You will bring a minimum five (5) years of experience in Human Resources preferable in an industrial and/or oil and gas background. A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or a related diploma is preferred. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and assistance to operational leadership on a wide range of human resource issues including: employee relations, conflict resolution, investigations, sick leave and return-to-work management, employee retention and engagement and HR policies and programs.
  • You will provide sound advice and information to and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop opportunities for educating and communicating with Employees, Supervisors and Managers. This includes evaluating and, where appropriate, developing and delivering, organization effectiveness and training solutions for the business units. Potential areas of focus may include, but not limited to, managerial effectiveness, team development, performance management, and competency development.
  • You will actively contribute to improving the analysis, delivery and administration of HR programs, streamlining and standardizing HR policies, practices and processes where appropriate.
  • Lead, facilitate and/or participate in key meetings with internal and/or cross-divisional groups as needed.
  • Actively participate in HR project work, such as development of new human resources initiatives for a division or the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • CPHR designation, or working towards, preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment law, including provincial legislation, Human Rights, OH&S and WCB.
  • Strong investigative skills, and previous experience with responding to Legal and Human Right Complaints.
  • You will have the ability to quickly develop strong relationships with team members and operational client groups.
  • You are flexible to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances, having a high tolerance for ambiguity.
  • You possess personal leadership and strong change management skills.
  • You have excellent business acumen skills to provide superior customer service to internal client groups.
