Position

The Director, HR Business Partner is responsible for leading the implementation of HR programs as well as providing internal consulting support for key initiatives across IG Wealth Management and IGM Finance. The role reports to the AVP, HR Business Partner.


The successful incumbent will earn and own a seat at various leadership tables across IG Wealth Management and the IGM Finance functions. They will work closely with senior business leaders up to the SVP; maintaining a thorough understanding of business strategy and organizational plans and participate in the development of HR requirements to support and drive the business plans in the ongoing development of the function\xe2\x80\x99s operating model, talent and culture. The successful incumbent in this role will understand and deliver on all HR cycles and business initiatives while focusing on the employee and leader experience.


The role will focus on building a high performance, empowered organization through partnering with the HR Centres of Expertise (CoEs) and leaders within IG Wealth Management and IGM Finance, to ensure all HR practices and programs are in place and well understood. The work of this role and the team varies from supporting the implementation of established HR CoE programs to defining and partnering with the CoE\'s to deliver solutions that enable the business to execute strategy in the face of new opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a thought partner to leaders, helping them navigate the complexity of organizational change.
  • Supports the development of capabilities and behaviours to enable organization effectiveness.
  • Drives program management with business partners for implementation of HR programs & initiatives.
  • Engages and Influences leaders to build and foster diverse and inclusive environments and establish plans and tactics to prepare our people to meet future business needs.
  • Provides organizational development consultation and advice to IG Wealth Management and IGM Finance function leaders for business initiatives within different business unit areas.
  • Provides change management and communication support for business and HR initiatives.
  • Partners with leaders to deliver-on regular HR programs and policies to their organizations.
  • Leverages data and analytics to identify trends and issues and build management actions.
  • Researches external thought leadership and trends, to co-create appropriate internal offerings.


Experience and Education:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline, CPHR designation an asset.
  • 10+ years of progressive work in HR, focusing on consultation & business partner functions.
  • Experience and preference for HRBP work.

  • Ability to manage in a virtual team environment, creating and maintaining remote working relationships.
