Position Summary The HR Assistant role is responsible for day-to-day HR and benefits administration, including recruiting and policy implementation. Our ideal candidate has strong administrative skills, is organized, with an eye for detail, strong communication skills and good knowledge of HR principals.
Our expectations: Responsibilities in this role are diverse and will include coordination of employee data and files, creating organizational charts, preparing and sharing HR reports, employment contracts, supporting recruitment and onboarding, conducting data entry for employee life cycle, that includes but not limited to new hires, terminations, leaves, promotions; internal communications to employees, planning employee events, and a variety of HR related projects in such areas as employee recognition, employee engagement, and total rewards.
What you bring to the team:
  • Education: University degree or diploma in HR Management or relevant field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of administration and/or related HR experience. Working towards a CPHR designation would be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights and WorkSafe legislation as well as human resources management fundamentals.
  • Experience working in a high-paced environment
  • Excellent computer skills - Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and database knowledge required
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn HR systems and software
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations effectively and professionally
  • Ability to multi-task and strong self-directed work ethic
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and understand cultural differences
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Proven ability to interact effectively within the department, across and outside the organization
  • Proven ability to work efficiently, effectively as part of a team, and independently where assigned
