The People Operations Bureau is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who understands WSIB and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims administration. Current vacancies exist in the Workplace Safety and Claims Administration team, focusing on Workplace Safety Insurance and Long-term Income Protection claims.

Workplace Safety and Claims Administration puts workplace safety at the forefront, with a focus on proactive identification of hazards, risk mitigation, occupational health and safety training, infection prevention and control and related major projects and initiatives. Additionally, they support the full spectrum of administration of WSIB and LTIP claims, analysis and business and financial reporting.

About the job

In this role, you will:
Provide advice and expertise, in the areas of workplace safety insurance and long-term income protection claims administration with linkages to organizational health & safety and abilities management.
Liaise with WSIB and other insurance service providers
Report claims related data to senior OPP Command
Respond to claims related data requests, as required, from other areas within the Ontario Public Service and insurance providers
Provide research and analytical support to the Unit, using applicable databases and systems within the OPS and OPP, to support programs and decision-making processes.
Conduct trend analyses of program data to keep management apprised of issues and patterns in program activity.
Provide information management services and analysis to support the Unit.
Work with and support the Claims Administration team ensuring employee absences are accurately recorded for pay and benefit purposes.
Participate in the ongoing development and improvement of applicable databases and systems, program resources, electronic files, correspondence, ensuring accuracy, while maintaining confidentiality and security of data.

Mandatory requirements
Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

Data Analysis Expertise
You can gather and synthesize data and identify trends for programs and processes.
You know data management concepts to maintain data integrity, efficiency, confidentiality and security.
You know how to use the Microsoft Suite of products (including Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio).
You have experience with HR information systems and databases.

HR Analysis
You can proactively identify issues within correspondence received and respond appropriately.
You can gather and compile data for HR programs and initiatives, and prepare various reports and responses to requests
You have knowledge of HR programs and related systems, including Ontario's workplace safety insurance legislation.
You have knowledge of long-term income protection policies/programs
You can interpret and apply relevant policy, legislation and collective agreements to ensure compliance.

You have demonstrated planning and coordinating skills to provide support for projects and initiatives.
You can assist in the design and preparation of project plans, tracking and monitoring project deliverables, reviewing and reporting on statistical information, and responding to inquires.
