Position Summary
The HR Administrator will work closely with leadership and department heads to realign and improve our people strategy across all offices. You will assist in
the day-to-day HR functions for both office and field employees throughout their employment journey.
The HR Administrator will ensure accurate record-keeping and will be primarily focused on administrative tasks, onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, and compliance with employment standards in AB & BC.
Duties and Responsibilities
Onboarding & Offboarding
Prepare and issue offer letters, employment contracts, and new hire documentation
Coordinate onboarding sessions and ensure completion of all required forms
Set up employee profiles in BambooHR and maintain
accurate records Manage offboarding process, including collecting company property and deactivating accounts
Recruitment
Employee Documentation & HR Records
Maintain personnel files in compliance with company policy and legislation
Track and update vacation, sick leave, and other entitlements
Generate reports for management as needed
Benefits Administration
Enroll new hires in benefits plans and process terminations
Assist employees with benefits questions and claims
Liaise with benefits providers for updates or escalations
Compliance & Safety Administration
Maintain WCB Alberta and WorkSafeBC accounts and ensure accurate reporting
File injury reports and assist with return-to-work documentation
Ensure compliance with Alberta and BC Employment Standards for recordkeeping and reporting
Payroll
Assist Finance team with payroll inputs related to new hires, terminations, and changes
General HR Support
Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures (employee relations)
Assist with internal HR communications and announcements
Provide administrative support for HR projects as needed
Qualifications & Competencies
Education:
Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
2+ years in an HR role, preferably in construction, energy, or field-based industries.
Strong working knowledge of
employment standards in both AB & BC.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to manage sensitive situations with tact and professionalism
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments
