As the Housing Team Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the Housing Manager by supervising housing support teams and ensuring the efficient operation of housing-related services. You will be responsible for coordinating tasks, ensuring the timely completion of responsibilities, and assisting clients with housing transitions. Your role involves supporting the team's daily operations, ensuring smooth coordination between housing workers, landlords, and clients, while helping to maintain high standards of housing support and client care.


In addition, you will assist in performance management for your team, monitor time and attendance, and participate in training and team meetings. Administrative duties, supporting the Manager in liaising with funders and submitting reports to external stakeholders, will also be part of your responsibilities. Strong organizational and communication skills are crucial to managing the fast-paced, dynamic nature of the work.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Housing Manager in overseeing housing teams, including the Pathways to Housing and Respite to Recovery & Clinic Sites teams. Supervise and guide Housing Coordinators and Housing Workers, ensuring tasks are allocated efficiently and completed on time. Serve as a point of contact for housing support staff, assisting with problem-solving and workflow coordination. Assist clients with housing transitions, including coordinating home viewings, lease signings, and move-in orientation, ensuring smooth integration into their new homes and communities. Maintain professional relationships with landlords, collaborating with Housing Coordinators to resolve issues and address concerns. Oversee housing-related services (e.g., cleaning, repairs, pest control, utility setup) to ensure timely and effective delivery. Assist the Housing Manager with administrative tasks, including managing client records, liaising with funders, and compiling reports. Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation related to housing services is maintained. Support performance management, providing feedback and ensuring team adherence to policies. Assist with time and attendance management, ensuring compliance with program policies. Participate in training sessions and team meetings to support professional development. Contribute to onboarding and training new staff, sharing knowledge with team members.

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience in a housing support or related role, focusing on team leadership and client support. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and foster a positive work environment. Knowledge of local housing options, landlords, and vendors. Experience working with individuals facing mental health crises, addiction, homelessness, or trauma. Understanding of Housing First and Harm Reduction principles, with a commitment to supporting clients with diverse needs. Skilled in using culturally sensitive approaches, particularly with Indigenous populations and diverse cultural backgrounds. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking abilities. Strong written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in computer systems and data management. Dependable, responsible, and committed to continuous learning and professional growth. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with team members, clients, landlords, and external stakeholders.

Vehicle Requirements:

Valid Class 5 driver's license (non-GDL) with a clean driving record. Access to a reliable personal vehicle, as travel within the community is a significant part of the role.

Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check Child Welfare Intervention Check Valid Standard First Aid & CPR certifications Vehicle insurance and appropriate coverage for work-related travel.
