Your Role as a Housing Support Worker
As a
Housing Support Worker
at Tapwe Mikiwam, you'll play a crucial role in supporting individuals who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of it. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate assistance, guidance, and advocacy to empower our community members to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll be involved in various tasks, including assisting individuals in finding suitable housing, acting as a liaison for accessing social services and medical support, offering ongoing encouragement and mentorship, organizing community activities, and maintaining necessary documentation.
What You'll Need
Genuine passion for helping others
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Previous experience in a similar role (preferred)
Valid driver's license
Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and history
Extra Skills We Admire
Experience in Mental Health and Addiction support.
