Available Position:



London Cares currently has an opportunity for a

Full-Time Contract Housing Stability Worker

. The successful applicant will be eligible for group health and dental benefits, paid sick time, as well as paid vacation.

This position runs until March 31st, 2026.



This is a full-time position, generally working a minimum of 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities:



In this role you will be a member of the Housing Stability Team reporting to the Housing Coordinator, or any other person as the Employer may assign from time to time and carry out such duties as assigned to you by the Employer.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Establish and maintain relationships with participants who have experienced homelessness through the delivery of in-home intensive, ongoing and collaborative case management services

Support individuals and families to achieve stability in their home and community

Help them to establish personal goals and support them to achieve those outcomes through regular communication, organizing meaningful daily activities, connecting them with other services (healthcare, addiction, trauma, employment, social, etc.), and creating proactive crisis support plans

Prepare and plan for "homelessness proofing" by addressing indicators that may de-stabilize housing using a strengths-based approach

Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned

You will be a strong candidate for this position should you possess the following:

Qualifications:



Post-Secondary education in the field of social work, human services, addictions, or mental health

2+ years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and vulnerable populations

Complex case management experience

Clear vulnerable police record check

Valid Standard First Aid/CPR is a requirement of this position.

A valid 'G' drivers license

Training in non-violent crisis intervention and ASSIST considered an asset

Skills and Abilities:



Demonstrated ability to apply a person-centered, strengths-based approach when working in the community with marginalized individuals who are experiencing homelessness with complex needs of untreated mental health, addictions, and trauma.

Advanced skills in motivational interviewing and facilitating SMART goals

A willingness to uphold a low-barrier approach and understanding of harm reduction and housing first principles.

Strong advocacy and in-the-moment conflict resolution skills

Knowledge of community resources in the City of London and system navigation will be an asset to this role.
