Duties


Coordinates staff housing for the Southwest Northwest Territories Field Unit. The field unit has staff houses in multiple communities including Fort Smith, Fort Simpson, Fort Chipewyan, Tulita, and, in the future, we will have them in Lutselk\xe2\x80\x99e as well.

Key responsibilities:
  • Working closely with the Housing Committee you will look for opportunities to continuously improve our housing policies and processes;
  • You will be the primary contact for staff housing and coordinate communications with a wide group of stakeholders including our tenants, the Field Unit Superintendent, Asset staff, Finance, Human Resources and the Housing Committee;
  • You will plan and monitor unit use and availability, coordinating staff check-ins and out, manage utility transfers, troubleshoot issues;
  • Working closely with the park and field unit asset teams you will help coordinate inspections, maintenance and repairs as well as track code compliance inspections in Maximo;
  • You will coordinate and chair housing committee meetings;
  • You will manage contracts for cleaning, repairs, and supply of materials.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial standards or equivalent. Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in administrative services, including but not limited to: preparing and tracking documents, managing emails, scheduling and organizing meetings, maintaining a filing system, and other related duties;
  • Experience in conflict management;
  • Experience using productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The following qualifications are beneficial and would be an asset but are not essential qualifications:
  • Experience managing or maintaining rental properties or residential buildings;
  • Experience providing guidance and making recommendations to clients.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Reliability Status security clearance - You are required to obtain and maintain this security level throughout this employment at Parks Canada Agency.

Other conditions of employment:
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence recognized by the province/territory applicable to this offer of employment;
  • You must be willing to work overtime;
  • You may be required to wear a uniform while performing your duties. In this case, Parks Canada will provide you with the uniforms you require in accordance with the Parks Canada Uniform Policy.
