Superior Facility Services is a family owned business providing environmental services to long term care and retirement homes for over 30 years. We are currently searching for a permanent Housekeeping Supervisor for one of our locations in Welland Ontario - Royal Rose
Full Time Days - Monday to Friday. Candidate must be available for emergency coverages on other shifts including holidays and weekends as per the needs of the facility.
This is a Long Term Care Facility and candidates must be able to work during a pandemic and be willing to adhere to all Covid precaution and immunization policies.
Candidate must obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police check and Two Step TB Test prior to start.
Under the direction of the Regional Manager the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible and accountable for managing an effective housekeeping department with the main focus on ensuring the delivery of quality service for the facility, residents, and staff. The housekeeping supervisor is also responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry duties as part of their daily job routine.
Duties:
Organizes and assists in managing all aspects of the housekeeping department within the facility
Participates in selection, evaluation, promotion and termination of environmental employees
Responsible for formulation and upkeep of department policies and procedures, goals, objectives, performance appraisals, etc.
Participates in the orientation process for residents, staff, volunteers, and students;
Participates on local and provincial committees for the facility
Maintains records in accordance with the policies and procedures and government regulations for the facility
To perform basic hands-on housekeeping and light maintenance duties associated with the facility's operation.
Qualifications:
Experience as a professional housekeeper 2- 3 years;
Proven hands on housekeeping and or laundry experience
Proven Supervisory experience 1 -2 years;
Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
Working knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS);
Must be adaptable and flexible;
Must possess patience and tact;
Must be able to multi-task;
Must be organized and able to set priorities;
Must have a genuine interest in the care of the elderly;
Ability to obtain a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check; and TB test
Must be able to complete all the housekeeping and laundry tasks that include pushing, pulling and lifting. Standing long periods of time.
Must have effective English skills, written and verbal.
