Reporting to the Home Environment Director, the Housekeeper will be responsible for caring for the housekeeping needs of our home by cleaning common spaces in a courteous and prompt manner. The housekeeper ensures that common areas are cleaned to a standard that ensures quality as well as assists in maintaining adequate inventories.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Include the elders in all daily care of the neighbourhoods.
Ensure the cleanliness of the neighbourhoods and the home in general, according to schedules.
Report needed repairs. This ensures a safe neighbourhood and suite for our elders.
Work with the Home Environment Manager and Home Environment Director to ensure that cleaning supplies and chemicals are available for daily care of the home.
Ensure that my work does not increase risk to our elders by putting up wet floor signs and always keeping corridors clear with housekeeping carts kept to one side.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Completion or currently working towards Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Ability to demonstrate empathy, concern, and interest in providing quality care and service to elders.
Ability to communicate with well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English.
+ Ability to speak another language is considered an asset. Ability to interrelate well with others and establish positive relationships with elders, their families, other staff members, volunteers, and the public.
Ability to adapt quickly in a progressive change-oriented environment.
Maintains interest in learning more about person-directed care.
Ability to manage the associated physical, emotional, and psychological demands of the work involved.
