Job Description

Motel in Carleton Place, Ontario, is seeking a Housekeeping Attendant. Duties include a thorough and deep cleaning of the motel's guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, terraces, and parking lots, as well as laundry duties, maintaining organized and well-maintained supplies and cleaning equipment. Periodically, additional cleaning of other motel facilities, such as the motel's office, employees' lounge, laundry facility, supply facilities, public washroom, etc., will be required.

The person applying must be reliable, responsible, dedicated, hardworking, trustworthy, honest, clean, flexible, drug-free, respectful, and have no issues working either by themselves or in a team. Also, the person must treat the employer, colleagues and customers with respect and dignity. No prior experience is necessary. Initial and if necessary, extended hands-on training will be provided.

Summary

As a Housekeeping Attendant, you will be essential in maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and organization for the entire Motel, from accommodations to outside terraces and parking lots. This role requires core skills in cleaning, time management, and organizational abilities to ensure a tidy and welcoming environment. While no prior experience is necessary, proficiency in effective communication is a must. Additionally, relevant skills in laundry and customer service will contribute to a positive experience for customers. Duties

Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, suites, hallways, terraces, parking lots and common areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness. Change bed linens, towels, and other amenities as required. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces to maintain a pristine appearance. Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors, ensuring they are sanitized and well-stocked with supplies. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly. Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Assist with laundry services as needed, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is necessary.

Skills

Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial services is preferred but not required. Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment is an asset. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify areas that require cleaning or maintenance. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating with team members when necessary. Strong communication skills to interact positively with the employer, staff and guests. A commitment to providing exceptional service within the hospitality industry.
