Description :
The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN (322-273-LA).
By the end of the course, students will be able to plan and undertake coherent educational activities to meet the needs of children aged 2 to 12, and to set up an appropriate educational environment, corresponding to the educational approach prioritized with children in this age group. This course is a prerequisite to Educational Activities with Infants and Toddlers. Successful completion of both courses will enable students to implement educational activities that promote the overall development of children of all ages.
Required Qualifications :
Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years of teaching experience, or a DEC in Early Childhood Education or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a daycare setting. Teaching experience in early childhood education or a related program such as Child Studies or another field related to Early Care & Learning Issues is an asset. Instructors must be knowledgeable about serving balanced meals, be aware of portion size as it applies to different ages and identify empty calories. They must also be knowledgeable about the ministerial regulations regarding the preparation, handling and serving of food and special diet requirements of children. Being familiar with different intervention approaches pertaining to healthy nutrition habits is strongly recommended. This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required. Work experience teaching an adult clientele is strongly recommended.

This course will be delivered online/at distance. The selected candidate must have the ability to deliver a course online. Experience with online course delivery platforms such as Zoom, Moodle, LEA and Microsoft Teams is an asset.
