PXO has seven studios and three LED volumes in the US, UK, Germany and Canada.

PXO is looking for a talented Houdini Solaris Lighting TD to join our team and work closely with lighting supervisors to refine lighting workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Houdini Solaris Lighting and USD workflow. This position can sit in British Columbia, Ontario or Quebec.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand existing lighting workflows, develop and extend current Houdini Solaris pipelines for USD-based shot lighting
  • Implement production integration with asset management, publishing systems, task tracking, and render farm
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that lighting is integrated seamlessly into the final product
  • Create procedural tools and UI/UX to automate shot lighting tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest Houdini Solaris and Pixar USD features
  • Integrate rendering solutions like Arnold with the USD pipeline, and optimize scene graph performance
  • Improve interoperability between Solaris and VOPs, SOPs, and POPs for lighting specific uses
  • Provide resolution for support tickets from Solaris users
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience with Houdini Solaris development
  • Expert in Houdini Solaris and USD scene description workflows
  • Strong understanding of sequence based lighting and shot lighting in general
  • Experience with Python, Houdini APIs, and GUI frameworks
  • Experience with PyPanels using PyQt/PySide
  • Experience with Arnold
  • Good understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Maya Experience is a plus
  • Deadline experience is a plus
Additional Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • This position can sit in British Columbia, Ontario or Quebec.
