Hotel Maintenance Technician - Full Time

$24.00 - $27.50 per hour (based on credentials and experience)

Hours:

32-40 per week
The Explorer Hotel, Yellowknife's premier full-service hotel, is seeking a dedicated Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining the hotel's facilities and ensuring a safe, comfortable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including drywall, mudding, taping, and painting Assist with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems (experience in these areas is an asset) Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and building systems Ensure exterior areas are safe and well-maintained, including snow removal and walkway clearing Lift and transport materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs Support the maintenance team with various tasks as assigned

Requirements

Proven experience in drywall, mudding, taping, and painting (required) Additional experience in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC is a strong asset Ability to work independently and solve problems under pressure Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, shoveling, and general labor
