Basic Purpose:
The Houseperson is responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of the interior and exterior of the hotel, public areas, guest rooms and corridors. They are passionate about serving others and working as a team with associates from all departments.
Major Responsibilities:
Operations
Responsible for receiving and distributing clean linens to linen rooms
Receiving and completing requests (guests/room attendant) within a standard period of time
Responsible for taking garbage and recycling from floors to sort/dispose appropriately
Pick up used linens from guest floors to send out for cleaning
Stock supplies in linen rooms
Cleaning and sanitizing glasses and delivering to linen rooms
Pick up cribs, cots, microwaves etc from guests floors in a timely fashion
Assist with laundry when needed (washing, drying, organizing)
Reporting lost and found articles, maintenance problems, unusual circumstances or special room concerns (i.e. pets in room, smoking in room) promptly
Maintaining linen rooms and stocking carts
Communicating clearly and effectively over the radio
Complete turn down service
Guest Service & Community Culture
Providing information to guests about hotel services, facilities and other amenities
Providing information to guests about local attractions / services
Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards; thanking guests with genuine appreciation
Listening and responding to guests' requests or concerns and taking action until completion.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position
Performs any other duties as required or deemed necessary to provide superior service and teamwork
Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
Attends work on time as scheduled
Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment

Health & Safety & Security
Adheres to hotel policies and procedures
Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
Use Personal Protective Equipment as required
Consistently practices guest and associate privacy and security
Consistently practices guest and associate safety, upholding the hotels health and safety policy
Recycles bottles, cans and paper products in accordance with the policies outlines by our hotel green committee
Using assigned floor keys appropriately
Follows WHIMIS guidelines (Ensuring all chemicals are employed to WHMIS standards)
