We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel General Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of Clarion Hotel & Conference Centre in Sherwood Park, Alberta. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality management, with a proven track record in enhancing guest satisfaction, optimizing revenue, and fostering a positive work environment. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a commitment to excellence in customer service, and the ability to effectively manage all aspects of hotel operations.
Duties
Oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
Manage front desk operations, including check-in/check-out processes and guest relations.
Supervise staff across various departments, providing training and support to enhance performance.
Develop and implement strategies for revenue management and budgeting to maximize profitability.
Maintain effective communication with all departments to ensure seamless operations.
Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly, ensuring a positive resolution.
Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Coordinate human resources functions including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Manage night audit processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Utilize multi-line phone systems effectively while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
Qualifications
Proven experience in hotel management or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise staff effectively.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
Experience in revenue management and budgeting practices.
Familiarity with front desk operations and guest services protocols.
Knowledge of human resources practices within the hospitality sector.
Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse guests.
Choice Hotels experience is preferred but not required.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of hotel management.
