About the Property
Hotel & Spa a 41-room, full-service resort located on 17 acres of scenic waterfront in Port Severn. With the property features a spa, restaurant, bar, cafe, event and conference facilities, fitness centre, private beach, docks, and cottages
We are seeking a
dynamic, hands-on General Manager
to lead the property.
Role Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for overall operations, financial performance, sales and marketing, and guest satisfaction. This role requires a proven leader with strong
turnaround experience
and the ability to develop high-performing teams, drive revenue, and deliver consistent service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership across all departments (front desk, housekeeping, F&B, spa, maintenance, events).
Develop and implement budgets, forecasts, and operational plans.
Drive revenue management strategies to optimize RevPAR, ADR, and GOP.
Lead sales and marketing initiatives to grow occupancy, group bookings, weddings, and events.
Ensure consistent guest satisfaction, monitor guest feedback, and implement service recovery plans.
Recruit, train, and mentor staff while creating a culture of accountability and performance.
Improve profitability across F&B and spa operations while ensuring service excellence.
Manage capital improvements, maintenance, and property upgrades as needed.
Report regularly to ownership on operational and financial performance.
Qualifications
Minimum
7-10 years of progressive hotel/resort management experience
; GM experience strongly preferred.
Proven success in
turning around underperforming hotels or resorts
.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
Demonstrated sales and marketing experience, including revenue management and OTA strategies.
Excellent leadership and team-building skills; able to motivate, train, and retain staff.
Strong operational background across multiple departments, especially F&B and spa.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance, health and safety, and hospitality standards.
Assets
Prior experience managing hotels/resorts in
Muskoka, Northern Ontario, or other Resort cottage country markets
(Canada or US).
Experience in smaller resort properties where a hands-on approach is required.
Strong network in Ontario hospitality and tourism markets.

Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue management principles.
