Hot Shot Driver

Position Overview

As a

Hot Shot Driver

, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of loads using a

1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer

. The ideal candidate has previous hot shot driving experience, a clean driving record, and strong knowledge of load securement and vehicle maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a

1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer

to transport materials and equipment. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while ensuring timely deliveries. Perform

pre-trip and post-trip inspections

, including checking fluids, tires, and overall vehicle condition. Properly

load, secure, and unload materials

, ensuring all cargo is safely strapped and transported. Maintain accurate

eLog books

and required documentation. Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers. Monitor vehicle performance and report any maintenance needs or issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 2 years

of hot shot driving experience.

Experience pulling a trailer

and securing various types of loads.

Valid Class 5 driver's license

(or higher) with a

clean driver's abstract

(must be provided).

Accident-free for the past 3 years

(no insurance claims). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols. Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

CSTS 2020

Standard First Aid & H2S Alive

Working Conditions

The incumbent is required to work in an office environment with moderate noise. The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving and being exposed to normal office routines.

Physical Requirements

The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
