Summary:

We are a manufacturing firm seeking a full-time permanent hot dip galvanizer. Attention to detail and good communication skills are a must. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in any of the following: galvanizing processes, order preparation, and shipping. Manufacturing background is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

Conduct steel galvanizing operations and processes. Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove grease, paint, tar, rust and dirt. Loading parts on rolling carts/wagons using forklift and/or overhead crane. Operate manual and semi-automatic production/manufacturing equipment. Operate Overhead Crane. Mechanical aptitude and awareness - hand tools, basic hydraulics, safe operation of machines. Ensure items are hung safely prior to dipping. Ensure dipping paperwork is completed correctly. Ensure policies and procedures are followed by all employees whilst working at the kettle and surrounding the kettle. Have a strong sense of initiative and creative thinking to ensure quality products are manufactured. Work well in a team environment - promoting an environment of collaboration and support. Ensuring all necessary safety, manufacturing and quality procedures are followed. Multi-tasking on the production line. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Track and record production. Staging material in priority sequence for work orders to minimize machine downtime. Inspect and measure finished work-pieces to determine conformance to specifications. Assist with preparing and maintaining production equipment for operation. Handle and move materials and pieces, using lifting devices as required. Coordination of shipping. General labour duties as assigned, additional general responsibilities will be assigned during less busy times.
