NOTE:

This schedule is subject to change. Incumbent may be required to work on occasional/special event weekends. This schedule may require you to take up to a 1-hour unpaid meal break depending on the schedule.

Summary



As a Hospitality Associate you will be representing McMaster University Hospitality Services and must adhere to the Hospitality Services policies and procedures, including the principles of FIFO. Communicate with customers and co-workers in a friendly and effective manner. Ability to work well as a team member and independently. Organize and coordinate work in a timely manner with little supervision. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Must be able to operate a POS terminal, use debit/credit card, balance till, provide customer service, and follow all McMaster Hospitality Services cash handling procedures. Must be able to perform multiple tasks within the unit. Maintain accurate time, temperature, delivery and cleaning logs. Knife test may be required to demonstrate proficiency in knife handling. May be required to help prepare and serve sandwiches, salads, beverages, etc. Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work area, including scheduled equipment and unit cleaning. Perform all duties of any job classification equivalent or lower filling in wherever needed to assist in our excellent customer service requirement. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stock shelves and help with the receiving of skids. Required to help with tasks such as cleaning, garbage removal, stocking of shelves, washing dishes. Education & Experience



Previous experience in a high production food service is preferred. Must have good communication, reading, writing and English skills.
