Horticultural Worker
Job Description
About the Role:
The successful candidate(s) would work under the supervision of the Parks Manager.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining lawns of 8-acre site
Mowing
Weed Control & Maintenance
Maintaining the minirail track (weed control)
Maintaining flower beds
Maintaining vegetable gardens
Maintenance of fruit trees/shrubs
Harvesting and preparing produce for use or preserving
Recording duties in log book
Assist with minirail operations when needed
Candidate Requirements:
Canadian citizen, Permanent resident or have refugee status
Able to work full contract term
Interest in local history/nature-based tourism/forestry
Fluent in English
Ability to work outside in all conditions
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Access/Publisher)
Criminal Record Check
Ability to lift, move and carry 40 kg.
Ability to function effectively in ever-changing environment and deal with frequent interruptions
Capable of managing oneself independently
Interest in highly physical daily routine
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Work Location: In person
