JOB SUMMARY

- with the on-going support of the Supervisor, the Home Support Worker provides light housekeeping services for vulnerable people.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

-

complete housekeeping tasks including laundry, sweep/mop/vacuum floor, dust, remove garbage, change & make bed, wash dishes and complete other duties as approved; observe client conditions and report unusual events or changes in condition; participate in training activities; follow the policies and procedures of VHA; and maintain confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Education - completion of secondary (high) school preferred.

Experience - if you have kept your own home/apartment clean, or someone else's, you have life experience that is valuable and we would like to learn more.

Other Skills & Abilities -

cooperative, a pleasant attitude and good natured manner in working with clients and co-workers; able to work independently; able to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.
All VHA employees are responsible for good health and safety practices.

*Requirements -

MUST HAVE A VEHICLE TO TRAVEL able to communicate verbally and in writing, in English; able to travel locally; negative police record check/CPIC for the vulnerable sector; evidence of a negative TB Test; up-to-date immunizations records, including 2 doses of vaccine approved by Health Canada against Covid-19; able to walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs and reach freely; work references.
