Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Support Workers to provide exceptional in-home and community care to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, health monitoring, and personal care in a respectful and supportive manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, disability support, or home health services, and possess a genuine desire to improve clients' quality of life through compassionate caregiving.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs while adhering to dietary restrictions Conduct patient observation and report any changes in condition to healthcare professionals or family members Utilize proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities while respecting HIPAA regulations Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for clients Support clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or other developmental disabilities through specialized care strategies Assist with transportation to appointments or community activities as needed Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures

Skills

Proven experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home & community care environments Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and medication administration Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, or memory care is preferred Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges using person-centered approaches Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and operate assistive devices safely CPR and First Aid certification are highly desirable Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring client confidentiality and privacy Compassionate demeanor with patience for working with vulnerable populations including seniors and individuals with complex medical needs
