Job Description
Overview:The clients needs shift and change often. She experiences executive function and mental health challenges with periods of symptom free time. She is in her 40s and has an invisible illness.
- Must own a vehicle
- Able to obtain current criminal record check (including vulnerable sector check)
- Non Smoker
- Experience with physical and mental health conditions
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and compassionate care
- Maintain confidentiality concerning client
- Prepare (or assist with prep for) lunch and supper, taking stock of what is needed and adding to grocery list, shopping for groceries
- Care for small, hypoallergenic dog on occasion
- Maintain a clean environment - helping with housework tasks
- Do some errands as requested (grocery shopping and accompany client to appointments/outings)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear Criminal Record check and vulnerable sectors check
- Effective communication, both written and verbal in English
- Physically fit/able to perform physically demanding job duties
- Reliable and punctual with a good attendance record
- Previous experience working in mental health is an asset
- Casual dress
- On-site parking
- Day shift
- Weekend availability
