Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Worker to provide essential care and support to individuals in their homes or community settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for those they assist. This role requires a commitment to patient care, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide personal care and support to individuals with varying needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, or autism. Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing changes in condition. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and cooking. Maintain cleanliness in the home environment, including light housekeeping duties. Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals and family members. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive living environment. Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills or experiences:

First aid and CPR certification is preferred. Experience working in group homes or assisted living facilities is a plus. Background in home health care or hospice care is advantageous. Familiarity with patient observation techniques and direct support roles is essential. Previous experience in senior care, long-term care, or social work is beneficial.
