Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance within their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in various settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice care. This role involves delivering high-quality care to seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming Provide companionship and emotional support to clients Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with Alzheimer's or dementia Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed

Experience

Candidates should possess experience in caregiving roles, specifically in:

Assisted living environments or nursing homes Providing senior care or hospice care services Alzheimer's and dementia care techniques First aid certification is desirable Additional experience in childcare may be beneficial. A valid driving licence is required for this position. The ability to work independently while demonstrating empathy and patience is essential for success in this role.
Full time position (8pm-8am) on a nursing rotation. Every second weekend, is a three day weekend off. The primary responsibility of the PCA is to provide quality, ongoing care in a private residence. Duties and responsibilities would include, but not limited to aiding a disabled individual with ADL'S, housekeeping, and a variety of tasks associated with the individual's personal interests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.77-$22.17 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
