Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those they serve.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide patient care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and autism. Monitor vital signs and report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and ensuring hygiene standards are met. Assist with medication administration as per care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Support clients in mobility tasks, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.

Experience

Candidates should possess experience or skills in the following areas:

First aid and CPR certification is preferred. Previous experience in group home settings or long-term care facilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring patient conditions. Experience in home health or hospice care is a plus. Knowledge of caregiving practices for individuals with disabilities or senior care experience is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs. Understanding of memory care principles and direct support methodologies.
