HIRING FULL-TIME HOLISTIC PERSONAL CHEF Full-Time Salaried Position for immediate hire. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. The Bountiful Chef is a personal chef service specializing in nutritional therapy. We work with a variety of clients with a variety of needs and specialized diets. This position will involve cooking for these clients as well as filling in with other various projects in the event of client cancellations. Ideal candidates will love working with plants (even though the majority of our clients are not plant-based), be creative with composition and flavors, and possess a sensitivity to aesthetic, seasonal offerings, and color all while adhering to very strict constraints. Must be familiar with restrictive diets. Must also be extremely familiar with and comfortable working with a variety of proteins, including pork, and comfortable using various techniques of preparation, We are a business that nurtures nurturers. A warm, dynamic, nurturing spirit is a must. Expectation is that this position will be one for an individual looking for a professional home and preference will be given to someone who is willing to commit to the position for more than one year. Bonuses and raises will be given based on loyalty and longevity. Only considering candidates willing to stay in position for 1-5 years. Benefits will be considered to be offered after the first contract year. Pay is commensurate with experience, beginning at $1000/week. Expected hours will be 8 hours a day, Monday-Friday. Responsibilities to Include:
Cooking for private clients in their home or in our commercial kitchen location (currently Kaladi Kitchens)
Procuring ingredients for all cooking sessions from retailers of the client\xe2\x80\x99s choice, understanding that travel to more than one location may be a possibility
Using pre-sourced proteins from vendors like Sunworks Farms stored at our commercial kitchen location
Picking up proteins from the Calgary Farmer\xe2\x80\x99s Market and delivering to Kaladi Kitchens for storage
Use of personal vehicle to travel to and from work, which can mean to a client\xe2\x80\x99s home or to our commercial kitchen location. Occasional travel compensation will be offered for clients that live a large distance from Calgary\xe2\x80\x99s city centre
Self education and continued learning to be familiar with all dietary restrictions relating to a client. Education resources and training will be provided as needed.
Meal planning, which is to include varied, dynamic, well-balanced meals for all clients that adhere to their requested dietary needs.
Communication with clients in order to maintain strong working relationships, rooted in a place of nurturing and healing.
Assisting with other projects in the event of client cancellations such as Caf\xc3\xa9t\xe2\x80\x99 Bountiful, Goodly soup production, and other Bountiful Chef projects which can include social media or marketing efforts, recipe development or testing, and any other activity for the betterment of the business as needed
Basic Requirements:
Knowledge of nutrition and restrictive diets
Ability to lift 50 pounds and to stand for extended periods of time
Must have reliable transportation
Must be willing to travel to commercial kitchen location (currently Kaladi Kitchens)
Valid Food Safe Certification
Strong English communication sills to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and vendors
2+ years experience working as a nutritionist, personal chef, or similar position
