Extensive hockey experience is required for this position As well as experience teaching a variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, flag football, lacrosse, and camp games is an asset.

Counsellor Applicant Requirements

Extensive hockey experience is required. Summer camp experience is an asset, however not required. Experience coaching/teaching students of all ages in a variety of sports. Excellent leadership, social and verbal communication skills. Works well with minimal supervision, and asks for assistance when needed. Vulnerable Sector background check certification is required. CPR & First-Aid is an asset but not required Manages conflict situations appropriately and professionally. Must be at least 16 years of age as of December 2025 (ie born in 2009 or prior)

Counsellor Responsibilities include:

Camp Counsellors report to the Camp Lead of each specific section Oversee a group, which includes 6-10 kids on a weekly basis. Ensuring the safety of your group at all times. Follow the daily schedule provided to you by the Camp Manager. Ensuring you are on-task and adhering to the TOP Sports Staff Code of Conduct. Operate all aspects of the summer camp program (including policies and procedures) in a safe, timely, efficient, and relevant manner in accordance with current standards. Responsible for traveling with and the safety of your group while at camp. Communicate professionally with campers, parents, staff members, and other community members on a daily basis. Responsible for recording any incident or medical reports, including allergies, injuries, and conflicts. Coordination of your group's drop-off and pickup of campers throughout week, including any early pickups
