We have opportunities for hard working, enthusiastic and reliable people just like you.What you'll do:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HMR/Deli department, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively to meet customer demand.Ensure the department meets or exceeds sales and profitability goals, with a strong focus on fresh food sales, prepared meals, and deli products.Train, develop, and lead department associates in food safety, customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising specific to deli and hot meal offerings.Ensure all deli products, including fresh meats, cheeses, salads, and prepared meals, are stocked, displayed, and priced appropriately.Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely replenishment of fresh products and collaborate with other departments to minimize waste and maximize freshness.Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and cleanliness in the department, ensuring all regulations and hygiene requirements are met.Ensure department displays are appealing and in line with seasonal promotions, holiday offerings, and customer preferences.Work with store management to align deli and hot meal department goals with broader store objectives, ensuring excellent cross-department communication.Continuously look for talent to join your team, with a particular focus on recruiting skilled deli and food service professionals.Lead, coach, and motivate colleagues, fostering a productive and engaged team culture while improving retention.Commit to maintaining merchandising standards and operational excellence, ensuring customers receive high-quality service and products.What you bring:High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in culinary arts, food safety, or business preferred.Previous retail or food service management experience, preferably in a deli, grocery, or specialty food setting.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop associates in a food-focused environment.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.Knowledge of food safety regulations, deli operations, and inventory management specific to the deli and prepared food categories.Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time, especially when preparing or managing products.A passion for food and customer service, with a strong understanding of trends in the deli and hot meal.Our commitment to Sustainability and Social Impact is an essential part of the way we do business, and we focus our attention on areas where we can have the greatest impact.
