Under the supervision of and with training and support from the Program Coordinator, Home Visitors provide the HIPPY program to mothers and help them to teach their 3-5- year-old children and prepare them for school. They also develop their own career plan to prepare for future employment and / or educational opportunities after completing her service in the program.
DUTIES:
Attending weekly role-play training
Practicing the curriculum with their HIPPY child
Executing the HIPPY program in accordance with the terms specified in the contractual agreement.
Recruiting and selecting eligible HIPPY families and Home Visitor staff
Making weekly visits (make -up visits, if necessary) to participating families for the purpose of role-playing activity packets
Participating in the planning and execution of group meetings, which includes role-playing the subsequent week's activity packet and facilitating enrichment activities.
Establishing effective partnerships with other human service organizations to ensure optimal service delivery and connections to participating families
Participating in professional development trainings, other staff development, and transition planning trainings or activities
Keeping their Coordinator abreast of child / family progress and familial issues and concerns as they arise
Completing and submitting in a timely fashion all reports and other documentation as required by the HIPPY Office and/ or the MMC
Participating in all sponsored HIPPY activities (e.g., field trips, graduations, etc.)
Assisting in maintaining an efficient record keeping system of program operations and participating families by entering data into the ETO system in a timely fashion
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION:
Strong training and leadership capabilities
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs and interests of families from low socio-economic communities
Willingness to work as part of a productive and collaborative team
Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills
Good computer skills
Prior experience in one or more of the following areas is an asset: educational administration, community mobilization, parent empowerment Ifamily support, child/ family advocacy, or staff development
This position will end on March 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on funding availability.
