Summary:



The ASL DZ Driver will be tasked with operating an Automated Side-Loader truck to collect organics, waste and/or recycling along assigned routes. The role will primarily involve driving and maneuvering the truck while using a joystick-controlled arm lift to empty containers into the truck's hopper. Drivers are responsible for following safety protocols, ensuring timely collection, inspecting equipment, and reporting any issues.



Responsibilities:



Safely operate the assigned commercial vehicle to collect various waste streams in a safe and efficient manner and deliver the material to the appropriate depot (transfer station, landfill, compost facility etc). Provide customers with reliable and high-quality customer service. Proper disposal of the waste streams is vital to the health and well-being of the residents of the community. Adhere to the collection and delivery schedule while following all relevant MWSI policies and procedures as well as legislation and regulations set out by the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Environment as well as the by-laws of the Municipality in which you are working in. Work collaboratively with fellow employees, management, residents and members of the public in a polite and respectful manner at all times. Ensure that all waste receptacles are emptied into the collection vehicle and placed back on the resident's property, flipped upside down at the curb, in the same place that they were removed from. Support the success and performance of the contract as a whole by being a team player.

Competencies & Qualifications:



Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act. Must have a valid 'DZ' Driver's Licence, clean Driver's Abstract and CVOR. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be a team player, and with safe working habits. Flexibility with your work schedule, as end times may vary.
