Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class #1 Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes within Eastern Canada, while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. This role requires a commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining the integrity of the cargo.

Duties

Operate heavy trucks to transport freight to designated locations in a timely manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and cargo details as required by law. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues that arise during transport. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road. Perform basic maintenance on the vehicle, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.

Skills

Proficient in freight transportation with a strong understanding of logistics operations. Experience in heavy equipment operation is highly desirable. Valid commercial driving license (Class #1) is required for this position. Knowledge of automotive repair principles is a plus, enabling effective troubleshooting of vehicle issues. Familiarity with forklift operation can enhance efficiency in loading and unloading processes. Strong communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and dispatchers effectively. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to safety regulations.

Pay: $1,315.00-$1,476.00 per week
