Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic High School Teacher to inspire and educate students across a variety of subjects, including Social Study and ELA. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, classroom management expertise, and a passion for fostering academic growth. This role involves developing engaging curricula, mentoring students, and utilizing learning technology to enhance educational experiences in a supportive environment. The teacher will play a vital role in shaping students' academic success and personal development.

Responsibilities



Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with Manitoba curriculum standards. Utilize various learning technologies to facilitate interactive and effective teaching methods. Assess student progress through standardized testing and regular evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Manage classroom behavior to create a positive learning environment conducive to student engagement and success. Mentor students academically and personally, offering guidance on educational pathways and career aspirations. Develop curriculum content that integrates childhood development principles and special education strategies when applicable. Coordinate extracurricular activities such as sports coaching or library services to enrich the student experience. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive instructional strategies and school-wide initiatives.

Experience



Prior classroom experience at the high school level is required; experience working with children in various settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in teaching core subjects such as Social Study and ELA. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, standardized testing preparation, and tutoring is essential. Familiarity with private school environments or Montessori methods enhances candidacy. Strong communication skills for public speaking, academic advising, and parent engagement are necessary. Knowledge of childhood development theories and behavior management techniques is preferred. Experience with special education needs or learning disabilities is an advantage for supporting diverse student populations. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 - 40 per week
