The Mentor College High School division is hiring for the following position:

Position

: Humanities Teacher; OCT certified to teach: Geography, Civics/Career Studies, Leadership & Peer Support

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops lesson plans in alignment with Ministry curriculum expectations and the principles outlined in Growing Success.

Assesses students' progress and provides feedback in a timely manner.

Collaborates effectively with subject teachers and department heads to support student learning and departmental goals.

Establishes clear expectations and creates a caring and effective teaching and learning environment.

Supports student development through involvement in extracurricular programs.

Maintains consistent communication with students and parents regarding academic progress and achievement.

Leads by example. Inspires excellence.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education degree

Certification with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)

Proven ability to implement diverse and effective teaching strategies

Proficiency with Microsoft 365; experience using Microsoft Teams
