Qualifications



Excellent command of English (C2 level or equivalent proficiency)

, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Minimum

8 years of teaching experience

, preferably in

BC high schools or recognized learning centres

. Deep familiarity with

BC English 9-12 curriculum

and assessment standards. Proven success in teaching

literary analysis, creative and academic writing

, and supporting

online course completion

. Experience working with

international or multilingual students

is highly preferred.

BC Certified Teacher (BCTF)

designation is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities



Teach English Language Arts (Grades 9-12) following the BC curriculum. Support students in completing online English courses and improving overall grades. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction focused on essay writing, reading comprehension, and text interpretation. Offer detailed feedback on writing assignments and help students develop critical thinking and analytical writing skills. Communicate regularly with students and parents to track academic progress.

About the Role



We are seeking an experienced

High School English Tutor

to support students in Grades 9-12 following the

BC Curriculum

. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching

English Language Arts

, with expertise in

literary analysis, academic writing, reading comprehension, and essay development

This role focuses on helping students improve their school performance and complete online or in-person BC English courses with confidence and excellence. You will guide students through

close reading, critical thinking, and structured writing

, helping them deepen their understanding of literary texts and improve their academic communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 30 per week
