Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to perform heavy lifting tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining smooth warehouse distribution processes and ensuring accurate order picking.

Duties

Operate forklifts, Reach trucks, Stand Up Forks, Electric Walkie rider and Electric pallet jacks, to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas. Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with OHS regulations. Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are handled efficiently. Collaborate with warehouse management to maintain an organized storage system and optimize space utilization. Execute heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring safety practices are followed at all times. Support warehouse supervisor in training new staff on equipment operation and safety procedures. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements within the warehouse management system.
Experience

Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments is preferred. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including cranes and forklifts, is essential. Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety regulations is required. Experience with order picking processes and shipping & receiving operations is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance is a plus. Prior experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a leadership role is beneficial but not mandatory.
