The Heavy Equipment Technician will perform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and PDIs on a variety of equipment that is represented by JJE in a timely and effective manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Licensed Heavy Equipment (421A) or Truck & Coach Technician (310T)
  • 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Licensed Mechanic
  • Chassis experience considered an asset
  • Proficient with computers
  • Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
  • Exposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment considered an asset
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with clean abstract - DZ considered an asset
  • Safety conscious
  • Team player with positive attitude
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools
SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Employees must:
  • work in compliance with the appropriate safety legislation/regulations/safety policies
  • report any known workplace hazards or safety violations
  • Cooperate with their workplace\'s Safety Committee or health and safety representative
  • use any safety equipment, protective devises or clothing required
  • not remove or make ineffective any protective devise require by the Company or by the regulations
