On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Salesperson to join their team of dedicated professionals in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Business Development, the Heavy Equipment Salesperson is responsible for managing the sale activities and order management of DEVELON heavy equipment. This position analyzes sales opportunities, responds to calls and emails to accommodate requests concerning the availability of DEVELON machinery and attachments. This position coordinates the logistics to ship machines in a timely manner to make sure monthly sales targets are met. This position is crucial to achieve the highest customer satisfaction by performing duties in accordance with current vendor practices and the company\'s policies and procedures. The Heavy Equipment Salesperson receives the machine order, allocates it to the available stock and creates the necessary work orders.

Responsibilities

Sales Coordination:

  • Responsible for meeting the monthly sales target, including coordinating multiple moving pieces and backorder management to meet the target.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Interact with sales, parts, 3rd party vendors, logistics, internal finance, and operations, as needed to provide customers with on-time, in-spec delivery of products, documentation, and service.
  • Establish and maintain contact with customers. Respond to incoming customer inquiries on order specifics and assist with general information (list price quotes, new products, product availability, etc.)
  • Dealer invoicing, including line items (freight, pick-up, attachment, installation, etc.)
  • Attend and maintain current equipment training events, both online and in person.
  • Plan and execute customer events.
  • Maintain knowledge of financing options to assist customers with their purchasing needs.
Order Management:
  • Manage customer orders and product delivery commitments with customer service excellence.
  • Management of machine/attachment orders and machine customization work orders.
  • Manage and reconcile inventory at various locations as needed.
  • Provide data to other functional areas as needed (order information, inventory levels, customer historical data, transit times, freight costs, etc.)
  • Support month-end closing process.
As the ideal candidate, you are a driven sales professional possessing relevant business development expereince. 3-5 years expereince working in heavy equipment sales will be preferred. The ability to analyze and interpret sales reports and data will be key to success in this role. Functional ability to use computer/software related to the role, as well as strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask is essential. With exceptional communication, interpersonal and organization skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature. A valid drivers license along with the ability to travel will be required. The successful candidate must also be able to work flexible hours and be available for occasional weekend promotional support as needed. Forklift expereince or willingness to learn will be considered an asset.
