Job Description

Norellco Contractors is an Edmonton-based company servicing heavy construction from small to large projects. Our underground division has a strong reputation for successfully installing shallow and deep, storm, water and sewer facilities in highly developed urban areas, and repairing existing infrastructure. A large portion of our projects are within Edmonton and surrounding areas.

We are currently seeking experienced Water & Sewer workers to join our construction team. Amongst the positions available are:

Mainline Hoe Operators

Side Hoe Operators

Responsibilities

:

Support water and sewer pipe installation, groundworks, ditching and various excavation tasks. Perform excavation and backhoe operations while adhering to safety protocols. Ensure all job tasks comply with health and safety policies. Attend site meetings to ensure understanding of job, safety and quality requirements. Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. Operate equipment according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Perform daily equipment safety and maintenance checks. Record Keeping (equipment and maintenance inspections). Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required. Ensure heavy equipment is securely stored. Advise the onsite supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs. Maintain inventory for equipment (I.e. track shovel, grease gun, oils and lubricants). Maintain excavation to that of the client and supervisor's expectations. Follow the approved plan to design and construct project. Conduct rigging and heavy equipment operations as required. Ensure compliance with safety certifications including CSTS, H2S Alive, and WHMIS. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Maintain equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.

Working Conditions:

This position is identified as safety sensitive, may require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Overtime and extended working hours may be required. Work conducted outdoors in diverse weather and ground conditions

Candidate Minimum Requirements:

Possess CSA-approved steel-toed boots, safety-vest and hard-hat required. Valid driver's license, clean driver's abstract and reliable means of transportation. CSTS 2020 Training required. WHMIS 2015 Training required. Ground Disturbance Level II required. Basic Rigging Training considered an required.

Training/Skills Considered Assets:

Fall Protection Training. Confined Space Rescue Training. H2S Alive Training. Intermediate First Aid Training.

Pay: $26.00-$44.00 per hour
