A.W. Leil Cranes and Equipment has been proudly serving the Atlantic Canadian boom truck and crane rental market for over 65 years. We have one of the largest and diverse rental fleets of hydraulic cranes in Atlantic Canada and offer a wide selection of boom trucks, carry decks, all terrain, crawler, truck and rough terrain cranes. We have optimized our fleet to service all types of industries from commercial and industrial construction to infrastructure and wind turbine erection and maintenance.

HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

As a heavy duty mechanic, you will be a critical part of the AW Leil Cranes & Equipment team, keeping our fleet in top condition and ready for work. The job will present you with a wide range of challenges and the opportunity to engage with other crane technicians, operators, and operating branches as you maintain and repair a wide variety of cranes, lifting equipment, tractors, and trailers.

The position is a unionized position with the opportunity for overtime, double time, paid vacation, annual pay rate increases, and a strong pension plan.

Job Responsibilities:

Use problem solving, mechanical aptitude, and efficient workmanship. Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems and complete diagnosis and repair. Perform diagnosis and repairs to semi trucks and trailers. Follow company rules and safety policies, while maintaining a clean work station. Document repairs, modifications and inspections for requirements on paper for entry to our maintenance information database. Ensure all mobile crane equipment is in a reliable and safe operating condition; Use of computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of required repairs; Perform regular service, preventative maintenance and repairs as required; Analyze maintenance procedures and make recommendations to improve effectiveness; Identify and report part requirements and supplies as required; Ensure that safety issues are reported to the supervisor and promptly remedied.
Job Skills & Qualifications:

Must have Red Seal Heavy Duty Service Technician certificate or Truck & Transport Red Seal Valid driver's license Criminal background check

Pay: $41.10-$54.63 per hour
