We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Technician to join our team at MacPherson Rentals and Bobcat of Whitehorse. As a Heavy Duty Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and diagnostics of heavy equipment and machinery, including skid steers, excavators, and loaders. In addition, you will also be responsible for repairing and maintaining our delivery fleet of highway tractors. Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and machinery in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections
- Conduct safety inspections and adhere to safety regulations and protocols
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections
- Communicate effectively with the team and customers to understand their needs and provide solutions
- Operate equipment and machinery as needed to test for performance and accuracy
- Repair and maintain our delivery fleet of highway tractors
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a heavy equipment technician program or equivalent experience (Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Certification)
- Experience with repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and machinery, preferably in the construction or rental industry
- Familiarity with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver\'s license and clean driving record
- Familiarity with CAT, Doosan, Bobcat, or Genie equipment is a bonus
