Road construction, asphalt paving, aggregate production, hot mix asphalt and ready-mix concrete supply are the core activities. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, you will provide support to complete daily repairs and preventive maintenance and perform related assigned tasks and duties under limited supervision. Travel to operations and project sites will be required upon request.

Job Summary

The heavy duty mechanic will be required to perform repairs and maintenance on all types of equipment and plants.

Duties/Tasks

• Perform equipment repairs and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
• Assist in completing all maintenance inspections.
• Ensure all repairs completed are documented.
• Record any equipment deficiencies.

Qualifications/ Experience

• Strong technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to perform service on various equipment ranging from heavy duty equipment to small engine and parts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask is a must.
• Team player
• Establish good relationships with the team, and external resources.
• Participate, accept and adopt the principles described in the company safety program.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be able to work respecting safety policies and procedures. Perform duties safely around mobile equipment and have a high sense of safety awareness while performing his/ her work.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
• Must comply with the company\'s drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements.
• Must comply with all company policies.
• Valid Class 5 drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of experience as a heavy duty mechanic or equivalent is desired.
• 1st year apprentice, apprenticeship program, will be given consideration.
