Job Description

Key Responsibilities




Provide mentorship and supervision to the Heavy Duty Mechanic Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure performance, safety and longevity of the equipment Dismantle components to examine for excessive wear or damage Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate parts as necessary Managing inventory control for all parts related to vehicle maintenance Maintain and calibrate vehicle electrical systems Monitor hydraulic systems for fluid leaks, ruptured hoses, worn gaskets, etc and calibrate or replace components when necessary Maintain an open and trustworthy relationship with respect to communication amongst staff and the Fleet, Facility & Purchasing Manager Initiate, manage and delegate daily work assignments with minimal supervision Maintain records of work completed and report on all shop related activities within the CMMS Perform all maintenance and repair tasks in a cost-effective and fiscally responsible manner Assist the Fleet, Facility & Purchasing Manager with the preparation of annual budget for vehicle maintenance Ensure safety and good housekeeping practices Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required Other duties as assigned

Qualifications




Must be in possession of a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic's ticket Minimum 3 years experience working in a heavy duty mechanics role, asset if within the ski industry Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Familiarity with Heavy Industrial Equipment (excavators, loaders, skid steers etc.) Previous experience working with snow cats and snowmobiles (key asset) Working knowledge of hydraulics Must hold a current valid driver's license Previous experience repairing undercarriage and track assemblies Previous experience repairing components such as frames and implements Welding ticket an asset

Working Conditions




Must be physically able to lift heavy equipment, manipulate tools, and engage in manual labour for extended periods of time Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, Holidays and after hours for emergency repairs Must be able to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions This role requires that the successful candidate provide personal tools to perform standard work tasks in exchange (tool allowance provided)
