Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems with experience working on rock drills. This is a fly in/ fly out position with a 14/14 rotation. Camp, flights and service truck are provided. Various locations throughout BC

Duties

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment including rock drills, excavators, dozers, and other earth moving equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools Conduct inspections to identify wear and potential failures before breakdowns occur Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques for repairs and modifications Operate heavy machinery for testing or troubleshooting purposes when necessary Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members Assist with the installation of new equipment and upgrades as needed Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs

Skills

Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role with dealership or industrial equipment background Journeyman Red Seal ticket required Strong knowledge of rock drills, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and schematics Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes Mechanical knowledge related to rock drills and earth moving equipment Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret technical schematics and manuals Strong customer service skills for effective communication with clients and team members Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy machinery operation and maintenance

Pay: $58.00-$62.00 per hour
