HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC / HET

Firma Contracting is a heavy civil contractor based in Saskatoon. We have an exciting opportunity to work with our operations management team as a Heavy Duty Mechanic / HET.

Role and Responsibilities:

Repairs on construction equipment in the shop and on site as needed Regular mechanical maintenance and servicing Inspect equipment for defects and malfunctions Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required Repair and replace defective parts, components and/or systems Trouble shooting and investigating Sourcing parts Test repaired equipment for proper performance and that it meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications Providing input with equipment purchases Completing documentation for preventative maintenance Follow HSE program and documentation requirements.

Requirements:

4th year Apprentice or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or HET Or equivalent experience with references to back up experience Class 5 Driver's License with Air Brakes and clean Driver's Abstract A minimum of 3 years experience working on heavy construction equipment Flexibility with hours - ability to work on some weekends as needed Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills Superior mechanical aptitude Shop and/or field work experience Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices The ability to lift and manage 50 pounds without assistance * Great attitude - someone who wants to be part of a tight knit team
