We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar mining and general line products, located in the Yukon. Some of the equipment you will be working on includes 6040 Shovels, MD6290 Drills, 993K Loaders and 785 Haul Trucks.This position will work on a 14 x14 rotation. - Camp or Housing Accommodations:

• Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment
• Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial (Red Seal) Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
• Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset
• Drill and shovel experience would be considered an asset

Notes:

• This position is located in the Yukon, on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation
• Fully tooled service truck supplied
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement\xe2\x80\x8b
